Summary
Vastgoed.app gives you real-time insight into your property management, making it easier to stay on top of everything. They also want to empower residents to handle minor household issues on their own. To help with this, they've created a series of helpful animations.
Script & Storyboarding
After discussing the simplistic and geometric design style with the stakeholders (and approved), I went to script the story and designed the styleframes in the storyboard. Normally I would write the script down and sketch things out, but now there was a close collaboration with the stakeholder and we decided to combine these deliverables.
Characters
To communicate the different stories better we needed some characters, so I decided to start off with three characters; a landlord, a carpenter and the tenant.
Keeping it simple
To stay in style of the brand, I decided to stay in the geometric-style by using mainly basic shapes. This made it easier to rig the character and would take up less time for the project.
Play and Pause
I realised that watching a video for instructions was such a stressful thing to do. So to let the viewer know how much time certain steps would be on the screen, I've added a duration bar with a suggestive text to pause the video if needed.
Results
Unfortunately the series never got beyond 3 animations. Although they had a fair decent amount of views, I'm proud to probably helped at least a couple hundred people with their minor household issues.
